EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H ist ein Selbstverlag für Künstlerbücher, gegründet am 27. Juni 2023 in Potsdam. Das Künstlerbuch als Genre hat sich am Rande verschiedener Kunstströmungen entwickelt. Als Experiment im Medium des „Buchs“ war es immer auch eigenständiges Kunstwerk, Objekt, Konzept und Ort der Camouflage. Das Konzept von EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H steht für Themen, die nicht weggescrollt werden sollten. Die Ästhetik des Designs zielt auf Weitergabe ab. Immer geht es um Kunst & Leben, Künstlerische und Künstliche Intelligenz – aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven, immer im Zeichen des GLITCH.

In der Kunst der Gegenwart überschritten die Künstlerbücher stets Grenzen. An der Grenze zum GLITCH entstanden Buch-Projekte, das sich in der Hand des Lesers weiterentwickelt haben: als Manifeste, die Botschaften transportieren wollten und Orte der Meditation über den GLITCH und seine Perfektion. Als originales Artefakt im Digitalen, als von Künstlerhand geschaffen ist es ein Symbol der Detoxination.

Der Name des Verlags bezieht sich auf die EMBLEMATA und versteht sich als Re-Invention der hochwertigen bebilderten Unterhaltungsliteratur der Renaissance, des Manierismus und der frühen Aufklärung. Wer sich damit näher beschäftigt, wird darin Instagram-Elemente entdecken. Das Buchformat ist quadratisch (14,8 x 14,8 cm), etwas anders formatiert als ein Mobiltelefon. EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H reflektiert die Konkurrenz um die Aufmerksamkeit eines Publikums, das immer schon genug zu lesen hat. Es greift miszellenartig Nischenthemen oder spontane Fragestellungen auf, die sich aus Diskursen der Kunst, KI, Gesellschaft, Politik, Umwelt, Philosophie ableiten.

EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H is a self-publishing company for artist books, founded on June 27, 2023 in Potsdam. The artist book as a genre developed on the fringes of various art movements. As an experiment in the medium of the “book”, it was always an independent work of art, object, concept and place of camouflage. The concept of EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H stands for topics that are so relevant that they don't get scrolled down. The aesthetics of the design aims to be passed on. It's always about art & life, artistic and artificial intelligence - from different perspectives, always in the sign of the GLITCH.

In contemporary art, artists' books have always crossed borders. On the edge of GLITCH, book projects emerged that developed further in the hands of the reader: close to the manifesto that wanted to convey messages. As an object of meditation on the GLITCH and its multiple perfection options.

The name of the publishing house refers to the EMBLEMATA and sees itself as a reinvention of the high-quality illustrated entertainment literature of the Renaissance, Mannerism and the early Enlightenment. If you take a closer look at it, you might also discover Instagram elements in it. The book format is square (14.8 x 14.8 cm), formatted slightly differently than a mobile phone.

EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H reflects the intense competition for attention from an audience that already has enough to read. It takes up miscellaneous niche topics or spontaneous questions that are derived from discourses on art, AI, society, politics, the environment, philosophy, an art project, an exhibition, an artist:in conversation or even a studio visit.
