EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H is a self-publishing company for artist books, founded on June 27, 2023 in Potsdam. The artist book as a genre developed on the fringes of various art movements. As an experiment in the medium of the “book”, it was always an independent work of art, object, concept and place of camouflage. The concept of EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H stands for topics that are so relevant that they don't get scrolled down. The aesthetics of the design aims to be passed on. It's always about art & life, artistic and artificial intelligence - from different perspectives, always in the sign of the GLITCH.

In contemporary art, artists' books have always crossed borders. On the edge of GLITCH, book projects emerged that developed further in the hands of the reader: close to the manifesto that wanted to convey messages. As an object of meditation on the GLITCH and its multiple perfection options.

The book “Findet mich das Glück” by Peter Fischli and David Weiss, published in 2003, is the best-selling artist book worldwide with a circulation of more than 300,000 copies. We start small, with the publication "Der Uferweg am Griebnitzsee", in which the aphorism of Fischli and Weiss should play an important role.

The name of the publishing house refers to the EMBLEMATA and sees itself as a reinvention of the high-quality illustrated entertainment literature of the Renaissance, Mannerism and the early Enlightenment. If you take a closer look at it, you might also discover Instagram elements in it. The book format is square (14.8 x 14.8 cm), formatted slightly differently than a mobile phone.

EMBLEMATIC.PI*$©H reflects the intense competition for attention from an audience that already has enough to read. It takes up miscellaneous niche topics or spontaneous questions that are derived from discourses on art, AI, society, politics, the environment, philosophy, an art project, an exhibition, an artist:in conversation or even a studio visit.
